FAQs
A Note from Russell
Howdy.
I didn't start Phantasmagorical just to sell merch.
I started it because I was tired of the gap in the market. I was sick of seeing cheap, scratchy festival gear that shrank after one wash. The culture deserved better.
I wanted to create wearable artifacts. Heavyweight cotton. Art that explores inner consciousness. High-end streetwear for the deconstructed mind.
So I left my 10-year career in tech to build this. There is no board of directors here. There is no big marketing team in a glass office. It is just me. I design the shirts. I write the emails. I answer the support tickets. I run the whole show.
When you buy from Phantasmagorical, you aren't funding a faceless corporation's third yacht. You are supporting a real person's dream. Because I am a small shop obsessed with quality, I do things a little differently than Amazon. Please read below so we can get you the perfect fit.
Is Phantasmagorical a real company?
As real as it gets. This is not a faceless corporation. We hold a 4.9 star rating from real customers, and around 40 percent of our sales each month come from people coming back for more. That is not an accident. When you buy here, you are supporting one person's dream.
Is this one of those drop shipping scams?
Short answer: nope. I get why you ask. There are a lot of sketchy folks out there selling cheap junk. That ain't us. When you order, my manufacturing partner makes your piece. But this isn't some random factory. I work with one boutique partner who cares about quality and treats people right. Every piece is made to order. It is intentional.
How long does shipping take?
Because we don't mass produce, every piece is created when you order it. That means less waste and is better for the planet. Orders are typically processed within 1 to 3 business days, and domestic US delivery usually runs 5 to 8 business days from there. You get a shipping notification with tracking the moment it goes out. International delivery generally runs 15 to 30 business days depending on the destination and customs. Full details are on our shipping policy page. As the old saying goes, you can't rush a good harvest.
Are your garments made in a sweatshop?
Absolutely not. I picked my manufacturer personally. They are committed to ethical production. Everyone is paid fairly and they work in safe conditions. I don't do fast fashion. If I couldn't stand behind how these are made, I wouldn't do this.
Where are the garments made?
My manufacturing partner is a boutique shop focused on quality and fair labor. Some pieces are made at their US location and some at their location in China. I know there is a stigma there, and I get it, but good folks are good folks no matter where they hang their hat. The craftsmanship is real when you find the right partners. And I did.
What if it doesn't fit?
I want you to love what you wear. Since I can't be there to measure you, there is a Kiwi size recommender right on every product page, next to the Add to Cart button. Use it. It takes a few seconds, it uses your info to find your best fit, and it is what unlocks your fit coverage. Every listing also carries a full measurement chart taken from the garment laid flat, plus a note on what size I wear in that piece. Backup trick: copy the size chart, paste it into ChatGPT with your height and weight, and it will tell you what to buy. Kiwi is the one I trust most, and it is the one that earns your coverage.
Can I return or exchange?
Since every piece is made to order, it comes down to one thing: did you use the Kiwi size recommender? Your order is stamped when you use it, so I can see it. If you used Kiwi and the fit is still wrong, email me at Hello@phantasmagorical.co within 30 days and I will help you swap for the right size, worry free. If you did not use it, I cannot offer a return or exchange, since shipping items back and forth costs too much for a small shop. But I won't leave you hanging. Keep the piece, gift it to a friend, and I will send you a 40% discount code to buy the correct size. The full terms live on our returns and exchanges page.
What about international orders?
For my friends outside the USA, I cannot do returns or exchanges right now. Shipping is just too tricky. Please use the Kiwi size recommender before you buy. Measure twice, buy once.
What if my item is damaged or defective?
If your item is genuinely damaged or defective, tell me within 30 days and send a quick photo. I will replace it for free and pay for the shipping too. Just email Hello@phantasmagorical.co.
How do I care for my garment?
These are premium pieces, and many have special snow wash, mineral wash or vintage dyes, so treat them well. Wash inside out on cold. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Don't iron the design. Handle with care and they look better in year three than year one.
What is up with the distressed look and the raw edges?
You might see frayed hems, raw edges, or small imperfections. That is on purpose. It isn't damage, it is a feature. We call it intentional finishing. It gives that worn-in vintage feel, like a piece you've loved for 10 years. It is wabi-sabi, embracing the beauty in imperfection.
Why don't you run discounts on the line?
Every piece is made to order, which means less waste and a garment made just for you. We build for longevity rather than the trend cycle, so we hold our quality and our pricing instead of racing to the bottom.
Thank you for being part of the collective journey. Stay curious.
Sincerely,
Russell
