What is it: The Macrodose Microcosm Vintage Wash Oversized Crewneck Sweatshirt is a 360 GSM pure cotton pullover cut to a boxy H-line silhouette with a dropped shoulder, finished in a vintage wash and carrying a full-color psychedelic print across the back. Available in Black, Dark Gray, Light Gray and Jeans Blue. S to 2XL.
What is the artwork on the back?
A full-color illustration filling most of the back panel. At the centre is a teal-green face caught mid-dissolve, hands pressed to its own cheeks, a third eye open above the other two. The crown of the skull has lifted away and a green brain is rising out of it, red veins still trailing behind, while two cyan comet streaks arc out from the temples. Below the jaw the whole head melts down into concentric pink and yellow ripples, like something dropped into still water.
Around all of it, a solar system. A ringed Saturn, a blue world and a green one, swept along dark blue orbital trails that loop the head like weather. Magenta mushrooms sit in acid-green burst frames on either side, sparks and lightning scattered between. The Phantasmagorical wordmark arches underneath in thick wavy yellow-green type.
The front stays almost bare. One small flame mark on the left chest, and nothing else.
What does Macrodose Microcosm mean?
Macro and micro in one frame. Planets orbiting a single head, a whole cosmos running its circuit around one skull, and inside that skull something opening up and leaving. The scale flips depending on where you stand: either the universe is very large and you are very small, or the entire thing is happening between your ears.
That question is the piece. The art does not answer it.
Why 360 GSM pure cotton matters
Most crewnecks in this price bracket are cotton-poly blends around 280 to 320 GSM, because polyester is cheaper and easier to finish. This is 360 GSM at 10.6 oz per square yard, and it is 100% cotton with no blend. That is the heaviest crewneck we make, heavier than our 350 GSM fleece crewnecks, and pure cotton means the vintage wash bites properly into the fibre rather than sitting on top of a synthetic.
The knit is textured rather than smooth, so it catches light across the body instead of reading flat. Ribbed collar, ribbed cuffs and a ribbed hem hold the H-line shape square instead of letting it drape into a sack.
How oversized is this really?
Very. The chest measures the same as the length at every size, which means the body is close to a literal square. At S the chest is 26 inches flat, about 52 inches around, on a 26 inch body length. That is a deliberately extreme boxy cut with a dropped shoulder, not a standard sweatshirt with a bit of room in it.
Order your normal size only if you want the full boxy silhouette shown in the photos. If you want something closer to a regular fit, size down one. Sizing up adds length as much as width, so go up only if you are tall.
